As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods from
their past.  Sometimes these special recipes get lost. This section is to help
people who are looking for lost recipes from their past.  If you submit a
request, please include the geographical region where you tasted the recipe.

I am looking for a recipe from the mid-60s for popcorn balls. The recipe did
not use molasses or any dark syrup, it used mini marshmallows and light Karo
syrup.  The recipe was lost during one of our moves and we have not seen it
since.  My mom thought it was from one of the women's magazines of the time.  I 
would truly appreciate finding it again.  Thanks.

My wife ran across this recipe the other day and it brought back may memories
for her of the Woolworth Drug store they use to go to.  She had to try it and
we all thought it was such a good one that I had to pass it on.  Hope your
readers enjoy it!  Jim H.  - Oregon

Woolworth Ice Box Cheesecake

1 (3 ounce) package Lemon Jell-O
1 Cup boiling water
8 ounces cream cheese
1 Cup granulated sugar
4 Tablespoons Lemon juice (less if you donC╟╓t want to much lemon) 1 can
Evaporated milk, well chilled (NOT sweetened condensed milk!) Graham crackers,
crushed

Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water. Cool until slightly thickened.

Beat cream cheese, sugar and lemon juice with mixer until smooth. Add thickened 
Jell-O and beat well.

In a separate bowl, beat the evaporated milk until fluffy. Add cream
cheese/Jell-O mixture and beat well with mixer.

Line bottom of 9 x 13 pan with crushed Gram crackers.

Spread filling over and top with a light coating of crushed gram crackers.
Chill
