Hi Daryl!

BM> Ha ha!! Last week was rather quiet as far as spam calls go. Yesterday had
BM> an 'oops' one: Caller ID said as from Georgia but the accent was anything
BM> but Southern. Let it go to the answering machine -- must have been someone
BM> new to the game as when the answering machine started recording could hear
BM> a female asking questions to at least two males.
BM> Hard to hear as the phone's handset must have been put down, so either
BM> on the desk or didn't get placed in the phone's cradle correctly.
BM> Would have been more interesting to listen to the playback if was in
 BM> English!
DS> Years ago, a former Sysop and his wife (both are dead and gone
DS> now) were "about to get frisky", when a telemarketer called. Not
DS> to lose anything on the moment, they "let it all hang out" <G>.
DS> The telemarketer was so embarrassed, that he hung up!! He
DS> probably thought he had dialed a porn line!! <BG>

Yours is more interesting than my phone call!

 BM>> Jenny's Burgers
 BM>> Jenny's Burgers - Melissa Smith
 BM>> Jenny's Burgers - Thomas Smith
 DS> There's a franchise in central Arkansas called "David's
DS> Burgers", at www.davidsburgers.com -- if you order a combo, you
 DS> get unlimited french fries.

Sounds good! ...Wonder how they do the unlimited French fries with to
go and delivery orders?!

BM>> And the CID system displays only the first field when the desired one
BM>> is the second if available.
DS> Blessings on the folks who invented CID, and curses on those
DS> who try to block it.

*67 to you too! <gg> More the curse to those who falsify it.

DS> When I was on dial-up, I used a door from Sunrise Doors
DS> Software, called CID Check. It took the number from the modem,
DS> and that was the equivalent of a telnet email verifier on today's
 DS> BBS's.

It would seem the phone companies could do the same.

NB> I've not gone to the text notifications.... I stay pretty much on
NB> top of things anyway.... ;)
 DS> I have that quite a bit...got word of a nice refund from a
DS> local area hospital (I had overpaid)...that's going toward the
DS> house insurance of around $1035 next week.
BM> I try to stay on top; reminders are helpful. :) Here with the pharmacy
BM> information using the cell phone's ability to connect to the Internet
BM> and so their web pages to check on refill status -- in that use easier
BM> and fasted than doing the same through the computer. ...YMMV, of
 BM> course! :)
DS> My pharmacy calls me when a refill comes in.

Mine can; just one less intreruption. More convenient for me to check
their app on the phone.
