The spike isn't happening where I am... eventually things will flatten
out other places as well.... so not a death knell, just a put on hold
for longer than we'd like.... :)

Is there any organization in town that provides services to disabled/elderly...?
Maybe you could find someone to do it as a
generous service..... :)
